They ran some tests from stool samples yesterday and it turns out Ryan has an infection in his colon. They are going to try to treat this with antibiotics. We will see what happens with this now. They are holding off on his feedings until they reevaluate him tomorrow.
Hello Creeden family. I was looking online around causes for vomiting and j tube feedings and one common one that popped up was due to acid reflux. Not sure if Ryan is on anything to prevent reflux at the moment.
I also saw that some people rely on TPN Total parenteral nutrition for feedings when the digestive system is not working properly.

Ryan was in a car accident early the morning of February 26 in Austin TX.
Then he went to Braintree Rehab for about 9 days after TX for Neuro rehab. While he was there his feeding tube fell out and it was not put back in correctly. This led him into septic shock and is suffering from peritonitis and other complications.
damn the hits keep coming...stay strong bro

You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
So far Ryan has fought and recovered from many serious infections. We have no doubt that he will do the same with this latest colon infection.
ReplyDeleteAs always, our prayers, love and thoughts are with you all.
Love, Wendy and Joe Demty
