Sunday Update

Things with Ryan have been doing well in terms of his abdomen issues. They have him up to 50 on his jtube feeding and they will leave it there for a few days before they try to increase it anymore. In the meantime he is still getting some TPN through his PICC line. His abdomen is smaller than it was a few weeks ago but it is still bigger than when he was at Briantree. Last we heard Ryan was still positive for the colon infection so they are continuing treatment for that. Hopefully that will clear up..

Neurologically, there is not much change. Ryan opens his eyes quite a bit during the day (although yesterday he slept most of the day). He moves the right leg. He also is moving the right arm and he reaches up towards his NG and face quite a bit so they strap his arm down so he does not cause damage to his trach or NG tube. Ryan seems to focus his eyes on you but he does not follow things much. Not sure what this means really. He still does not follow any commands from what we can tell. We try different ways to try to get him to respond but it seems more like general movements. Who knows...
