Easter Sunday Update

Not much has changed for Ryan. He is fighting hard as he has a severe case of Peritonitis and Sepsis/septic shock.

His vitals are a little better than they were yesterday. His temperature is still up a little but not as high so he does not need the cooling blanket on him anymore (thank god). His heart rate hovers between 112-125, his blood pressure is more stable. His abdomen is so swollen as are his hips. We have never seen Ryan this big. Hopefully the swelling will start to go down soon. It is very sensitive to the touch for him as you see him grimace whenever anyone touches near his abdomen. He is on a lot of pain medication as his situation is severe and they are taking there time with his recovery. He needs the rest. He would not even be able to sit up with his back brace on right now as his stomach is too swollen so it is better that he rests. You would think we would be getting better at the patience to just keep waiting but it is hard. Hopefully Ryan will get through this and will be able to continue with his recovery from the TBI. At this point it is hard to say where he is with that as he is on a lot of medications and his cognitive status is hard to judge at this point. More time will tell...
