Tues Update 4/7

Ryan is doing okay. He is a little more agitated than he has been. We are not sure if this is a sign of storming again(as he has been sweating a lot), pain or possibly he is waking up more. He moves his head a little more and both his arms are bent up near his face so he rubs his hand on his face. The facility will have a person sit with him all night as he tends to put his finger around his trach tube. Hopefully this will come out soon. He had the one-way valve (allows his to take air in the trach but forces him to breath out his nose and mouth) in for 4 hours today and he did great. Tomorrow they will put the one-way valve in for 8 hours and they will try to cap it (which will force him to breath in and out his mouth and nose) a few times throughout the day. Once he can be capped for a long period of time then they will consider taking the trach out to have him breath through his mouth and nose again. We are looking forward to that happening. It will be one more step along his road to recovery.
